The Full Story

Hi everyone my name is John Stratton I was born in old Kent road south London in 1960 . I have been writing songs for as far back as my memory will let me go but it all started with the records that my brothers left behind such as the Beatles, Stones , Kinks to name a few so developed a keen interest in 50s 60s music . When the early 70s arrived I wasn't really interested in disco or anything that was coming out at that time  but i still loved my 50s .In 1971 I found out that my cousin was the drummer in T Rex which like any teenager at that time just blew me away so I developed an interest very quickly for the drums but I could not afford any, so the sofa cushions had to do. I first stated playing with  the boys brigade where I learnt my rudiments and become a proficient drummer  .  After several years of playing  work then became priority and I had to concentrate on a real job. Around the 90s  I concentrated on bringing up my family so the music went on the back burner.  As my daughter grew up she developed an interest in music and started a band named Park Fires which have had some  successes . This has  rekindled my interest in song writing so I have been back writing and recording on my little Tascam .  All demos are written recorded at home with me playing each instrument so forgive the quality ,also all songs are copyrighted .

As a foot note your never to old to play or write  you only get old when you stop, never give up your dream.

I would just like to finish off by saying its not all about being rich and famous its about being creative and just enjoying your music . If you can sit down and write a song and even better if you can put your own music to the song give your self a pat on the back you have talent . Some people start when they are young some start when they get older its never to late to have a go. I've been writing and recording for years and its what keeps me sane. There are 3 songs available on Amazon and spotify My last tear - Old fashioned song - No place like home.

Enjoy.
